I hope to see as little as possible. I might even skio this direct. I want to go into the game as clueless as possible and to be dazzled by it when I get to play it. I miss that feeling of having no idea what to expect from a game.
While I agree 100% Welcome Tour should have been a pack in title, I did get it and I enjoy it so far. Minigames are fun, tech demos are cool, the whole learning about console thing is actually interesting. I got my money's worth.
Had a chance to play it for a day. It was... Well, it is not your classic Mario Kart. There is no option to play Grand Prix like a standard Mario Kart game, there will always be just one lap on othet stages except the first one, which is weird. You don't get a chance to familiarize yourself with the stage. The open world, what excited me most, turns out it came at a price of every stage losing it's charm and becoming just a small part of a larger world. Free roam is lackluster, unlockables are meaningless. They had every chance to make free roam a single player adventure with wide variety of challenges like bosses and battles. Instead you are getting to race through rings on most of challenges . Yay? I was not impressed. However, there is a silver lining here, the knockout mode. This mode fits the vest with the new stages layout and it will surely become a go to mode for me when playing online.
If I want to chat online I will use a phone and discord, and I never want to chat online while playing a game. It baffles me how much emphasis Nintendo is putting on the feature, like they have introduced the next big thing. However, I can't really complain, can I? I mean, it is not like they removed something just so they can add this.
Considering low sales of the original Viewtiful Joe, I have doubts they would go back to it. I would love them to do it, it is a great series that died off way too soon.
Such an underrated game. It deserves more love. Played it top to bottom, and will play it again with the new DLC.
Another beat em up from the same developers, Streets of Red, is fantasitc and nobody is talking about.
The developers should get a licence to make new Battletoads game.
@-wc- "This lifelong Nintendo fan will never pay 70 dollars OR 80 dollars for a videogame, or a dime over 400 for a console, ever." That is a very definitive statement, the one I don't agree with. I would be more than happy to pay 80 for a video game if the game is worth that money, and 400 or less for a console, in today's day an age, I don't think it is realistic.
If it wasn't clear already, we have entered the era of full digital. Physical will become exception rather than a rule. Next generation I will be suprised if it doesn't go exclusivly digital.
PS5 set the bar high with the Astro's Playroom. Free, full fledged game. Imagine a 3 hour 3D Mario game as a pack in title with every Switch 2. The console would sell like hot cakes. Instead, on top of the console price we have to pay 10 dollars for a handful of minigames. Even the visual presentation looks dull. They dropped the ball on this one, hard.
Some games are 70 dollars, some are 90. Some support cloud save, some do not. Some Switch games will work on Switch 2, some will not. Buying games is becoming more and more of a hassle, where you have to do research before buying anything. Do they think grandma will do her research when she buys little Timmy new Super Mario for Christmas? Of course not. With so many exceptions to the rule, it is a big turn off.
Eh, I have to say these are doing nothing for me. It has zero effect on the gameplay and it is just another coat of paint. If they introduced a joker or two based on the property they are making a crossover with, that would be a different story.
I would ditch the horror element. No more ghosts. He can chase whatever with that vacuum. Set the game in a mushroom kingdom adjacent setting, make it as colorful as a standard Mario platformer, and go from there. We already had three horror themed Luigi games, maybe it is time to explore beyond the horror genre.
Since when is 10 hours considered a short experience for a platformer? Am I...... am I getting old? xD Joking aside, I love Wario Land 4. It was my first game on the GBA and I have so many fond memories with it.
I am 100% okay with Microsoft doing nothing with Banjo franchise. What I'm not okay with is letting it collect dust and not selling it away. There has been some resurgence of 3D platformers and collectatons. Then again, the Banjo fans are now grown ups, with no time to play as much as before. There are no younger fans because there was no new game in the franchise since 2008. The new entry would have to be a masterpiece, game of the year contender, to have a chance of making good sales.
God forbid people invest time and money on the original ideas. Instead, let's make a movie based around an IP we don't own and try later how a big bad corporation shuts us down. Don't get me wrong, I am all for fan made stuff, but once money is involved, that's where it gets tricky. And yes, I know if they made something original it wouldn't get as much publicity. It is not fair, but that's how it is. Nothing is popular until it become popular. On top of all that, Nintendo is making their own Zelda movie. I will be surprised if they let this one slide.
If we get 24 racers, I would prefer if it as an option. 8, 12, 24, it shouldn't be that hard to implement, right? What I really really want is custom grand prix, where you choose different available tracks and make your own 4 course grand prix out of them.
Imagine a Super Mario game that Shigeru Miyamoto had nothing to do with, and in the credits you see "Based on characters created by employee." I mean, it is not like they have to credit every specific person, just add the name of the studio in the credits.
It brings back the memories of Donkey Kong 94 for Gameboy and DK Jr. from Super Mario Kart on SNES, and I see that as an absolute plus. But it is the design of other characters as well that really trigger my nostalgia button. Mario looks very much like his design in Mario Kart 64.
You have to wonder how the developers explain to themselves that this is not a rip-off, or how do they convince themselves to work on a copy of a well known franchise instead of creating something original.
Of course he is coming back for a fourth one. The third one proved that a Sonic movie without Jim Carrey is kinda pointless. They really hit the nail on the head with casting him as Eggman, and I bet you the next one won't be nearly as well received if he won't be in it.

I player Double Dash recently. It is...... it is not very good. Definitely on the lower end of the list for me.
Re: Review: Split Fiction (Switch 2) - Peerless, Visually Stunning Co-op Adventure With Boundless Variety
Played it on PS5, loved the game. Very cinematic and variety of gameplay is stunning.
Re: What Review Score Would You Give Mario Kart World?
6. Way too many missed opportunities and baffling choices to give it anything higher than that.
The core mechanics are great, but that is not enough.

Switch 3, exclusively digital. Mark my words.

People buying from scalpers should take a good look in the mirror.

Mario Kart, DK and Kirby Air Riders, those are day one buy for me.
Or maybe I should wait for Switch 3 edition for those games?

Re: Nintendo Believes In "Giving Proper Credit" After Backlash Over Donkey Kong Country Returns HD

Re: Poll: What Do You Think Of Donkey Kong's Redesign In Mario Kart 9?
It brings back the memories of Donkey Kong 94 for Gameboy and DK Jr. from Super Mario Kart on SNES, and I see that as an absolute plus.
But it is the design of other characters as well that really trigger my nostalgia button.
Mario looks very much like his design in Mario Kart 64.
